I am also a registered nurse and have worked in Labor & Delivery for the past 5 years. In general I am a very organized, neat, crafty, person & my creative outlet has been scrapbooking for the past 7 years. I love to keep my scrapping style current with all the latest trends & some of my obsessions include thickers, stickles, & distressing ink. I also love to include some degree of journaling on most of my layouts. I am certainly most proud of my completed scrapbooks when my boys flip though the pages & smile & reminisce on those special times.
Lacey Champagne I am the mother of an adorable four-year-old. Where do you scrapbook? I really like to load everything up and head to my local scrapbook store. But lately I have had to do most of my projects at home. I have a table in my living room designated to scrapping. That way at anytime I get the urge everything is right there at my fingertips. What products do you like to use? Patterned paper I love KI Memories, Basic Grey, Scenic Route. Scrappy Glue, embroidery floss, chipboard, stamps and my new favorite thing is kraft paper. I just love the color and the texture! How long have you been scrapbooking? I started when I found out I was pregnant with my baby girl. I started to save everything anything I thought would be important to her one day. Today she is four and a-half and has 9 albums! On average how long does it take you to complete a scrapbook layout? Well let’s see? Hum? I can usually get two or three layouts in a long evening (but sometimes I get more gossiping done than anything else. Especially if there are friends involved!) But if I am really concentrated then I can pump them out. | What is your favorite food? Mexican food, Italian food, Sushi!! Well pretty much any food. I have to admit I love food. I am not picky I will eat pretty much anything. Other than scrapbooking, what hobbies and interest do you have? Photography! I love to take pictures of anyone and anything. I am starting my own business and getting paid to do what I love. What more could one person ask for. I also like to bead and sew. What is your favorite color? Purple. I love any shade of it. It has been my favorite color since I was a little girl, I don’t think it will ever change. What designers inspire you? I love Kelly Goree, Jenni Bowlin, and of course my local scrapper, teacher and friend Teri Davis. Tell us about your family. Originally I am from Ocala Florida and most of my family lives there. My mother and father live here now. I have one brother and two sisters. I have been married for seven years and have a beautiful four-year-old daughter. We love dogs and have two pitt bulls, that I absolutely adore. |
Brittany Hebert I am 25. I’m the mother of a one year old little girl named Imogen. It’s pronounced “EM-oh-gin,” and it IS a real name. I’m a student at UL who is very close to a degree in General Studies. I’m a makeup artist for Benefit cosmetics at Macy’s. I am a daughter, a niece, and a big sister. I am old enough to know better, but I’m too young not to do it. I have terrible eyesight and questionable taste. I am neon, Saturday morning cartoons, fruit loops, and Popples. I am coffee shops, J. Alfred Prufrock, my little ponies, the color orange, and the inability to edit myself. I am crochet, chipped nail polish, and being just a little inappropriate. I am imperfection, but I am wonderful. Believe me, I am awesome. My aesthetic is based on a sense of immediacy. If I can’t stop looking at something, it’s perfect. I like colors that clash, the mish-mash of texture, and I believe that sometimes a little ugly is exactly what a page needs. My adhesive shows, and so do my smudges from being left-handed. Want to know why? Because when I’m 112 years old, my great-grandkids aren’t going to want to see some polished piece that I copied straight out of a magazine. They will want to see the seams that ripped, and the imprint I left behind. They’re going to want to see me. Scrapbooking is about recording our lives, mistakes and all. It’s about documenting our memories, and sometimes our lives have kooky crazy moments too. It isn’t about hiding who we are. It’s about celebrating it.
